Abstract:
With more than 200,000 Chinese students coming to European United each year, the promotion of a smooth and quality intercultural communication between academic staff, administrative staff and Chinese students in European United universities is of paramount importance. But how to address this issue? In order to answer this question, a Design Thinking dynamics was carried out with the aim of identify the importance of cultural awareness and to perform an analysis of its social, psychological and pedagogical implications. Moreover, to strengthen socialization and its influence on academic performance, a reflection on educational praxis at a personal and institutional level was undertaken, allowing the participation of students (international and local), administrative staff, teachers and members of the governance team. The results showed that communicative competence, teamwork defined according to European Higher Education Area guidelines and intercultural awareness are among other aspects, the most productive and essential ones for the practical development of an inclusive global education and for the promotion of academic success among Chinese students in internationalization framework of the European United universities.
