Abstract:
This communication presents the authors’ experience on the use of student’s portfolio (SP) and information technologies (IT) for continuous evaluation and assessment of student learning process. We believe that SP and IT combination is an unbeatable tool for allowing students to learn to learn and to think about self-learning process by picking up and selecting evidence of their own progress. Also, it promotes the use of on-site and distance learning and autonomous work, in a way which enhance the connection between the academic and the real world.
Moreover, we consider that the virtual environments for learning bring an added value to the teaching-learning process by favoring and speeding up the teacher-to-student and student-to-student communication, the participation, the cooperative and project-based learning, the students’ organization and time management and the constant feedback. Finally, the experiences we present here enables the creation of a SP and teaching strategies gallery easily consultable and adaptable.
