Abstract:
Due to the development of many new technologies, means of diagnostics and therapeutic procedures, there is a great focus on the quality of professional expertise considering radiology assistants. However, this profession requires extraordinary abilities such as a delicate approach towards the patient, basic knowledge from the branch of ethics, nursing and communication skills. The aim of the study was to describe and analyse ethical issues and problems in a multicultural society that radiology assistants encounter in their teaching and practice furthermore, to analyze the teaching opportunities in the field of ethics and communication. The results were processed within the SASD (Statistical Analysis of Data) program.
We are increasingly encountering people of foreign nationalities and different religious beliefs in contemporary society and in the healthcare sector. And not only among patients, but also among providers of various services. This brings with it increasing demands on the knowledge and skills of staff, on communication skills and on awareness of one's own ethnicity and cultural background. When cultures clash, conflicts are encountered that could be avoided with general knowledge, respect, culturally sensitive communication and access.
Given that every person has the right to have his or her moral and cultural values, religious and philosophical beliefs, which is also enshrined in the Constitution of the Czech Republic, ethics plays an important role in a culturally diverse society.
