Abstract:
The paper focuses on determining the main possibilities and approaches of higher education of radiological assistants as a specific field of study. The aim of the Radiological Assistance study programme is to acquire professional competence to perform the profession of Radiological Assistant, which means a person who is able to perform his or her profession without professional supervision due to his or her professional qualifications. The study programme must be in accordance with the current professional study programmes of the countries of the European Union and must comply with the basic principles for the education of health care workers. The paper focuses on the education of radiology assistants in the past, present and during distance learning. The aim of the paper is to characterize the university education of radiological assistants as a specific field of study. The next step is to address the possibility of using e-learning in the specific education in the conditions of the Czech Republic and with regard to Covid-19. The authors used the literature search, analysis of available information, subsequent synthesis of partial knowledge and the resulting deduction as a method of research, when the authors came to a new conclusion from the received statements. The contribution and novelty of the article is the authors' reflection on the topic of education of radiological assistants in specific conditions. Radiological Assistant education is a complex process consisting of learning or acquiring knowledge, skills, values, practical skills, morals and habits. The educational methods include teaching, training, discussion, targeted research and practical teaching at hospitals.
