Abstract:
Using the Information Technology in education and training has more than a 30-year history today. Nowadays, with everywhere and everyday use of computer gadgets, it has become necessary to develop the use of computer educational technologies in the study of foreign languages.

Computer educational technologies provide a new way in organising the study of a language at all its levels in order to improve listening, extend the active vocabulary, and master grammatical and syntactic constructions. The introduction of innovative technologies allows bringing the study of a foreign language closer to the students, learning at the time convenient for them, adapting the study to their level of knowledge and technical access.

Nowadays, a variety of educational resources is used in the study of foreign languages. This includes electronic or printed textbooks and manuals, reference books, dictionaries, adapted literature, audio and video materials, computer and mobile phone applications. Many leading foreign companies as well as local software developers invest into creating digital educational resources and computer training systems for educational institutions along with conducting their own research in this field.

LMS (Learning Management System) and LCMS (Learning Content Management System) are mutually reinforcing systems with the purpose of accomplishing management tasks in education, in particular, for learning foreign languages. These facilities allow a student to access the educational portal, which provides the key information, the ability of using electronic articles on the subject as well as additional materials through reference links.

The research was focused on innovative computer technologies in teaching foreign languages, Hebrew in particular. The purpose of this work was to analyse modern computer teaching technologies and develop a curriculum for learning Hebrew based on the LCMS technology of the Memrise application. The investigation included several stages of working with LCMS applications for teaching foreign languages, in particular, working with the Memrise application and creating a vocabulary trainer, based on ‘Bishvil haIvrit ’ (‘On the trail of Hebrew’) textbook. The results of the study allow to conclude that Memrise application is a good supplement to ‘Bishvil haIvrit’ modern teaching technique. It facilitates developing skills of lexical literacy and audio acquisition, which, in turn, leads to the improvement of general literacy and speaking skills.
