Abstract:
The landscape of teacher support is currently undergoing a significant transformation driven by technology, in particular the integration of Open Educational Resources (OER) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This paper presents an overview of these innovations within German teacher support platforms also showcasing the impact and potential of collaborative communities.
The paper provides case studies to illustrate the practical applications and benefits of OER, AI and community integration on various German teacher support platforms. It will also discuss challenges and offer recommendations for overcoming them. First findings already indicate that teacher support platforms come in all varieties and shapes from lesson materials made available by schools to national databases as well as databases focussing only on image materials. A structured analysis will give a clear overview. Further first findings indicate limited integration of AI in these platforms, which presents challenges that need to be addressed to facilitate the full potential of technology in teacher support. A third finding indicates a lack of community aspect, which will also be analyzed in the paper.
The integration of OER, AI and Community aspects in German teacher support platforms represent a huge potential in the field of education. Based on the detailed overview a new perspective will be given for a new platform with full OER and AI integration and a working community, enhancing collaboration and resource sharing among educators. Keywords:
