Abstract:
Objectives: Participants will : (1) outline a process for developing and conducting an international travel course with a focus on language learning; (2) describe the comparative language program at the Universidad de LaSalle; (3) discuss the benefits and barriers of international travel; and (4) create a list of effective activities and assignments appropriate for courses requiring international travel.
This session outlines a process for developing and organizing international travel courses. A comparative language project conducted by Texas A&M University-Texarkana at the Universidad de LaSalle in Mexico City will be highlighted. Suggested class activities and course assignments will be presented to support student learning outcomes. A discussion of the benefits and barriers of international travel will be conducted. A planning template with action steps will be provided.Keywords:
