Abstract:
In the distance education modality is essencial to use Information Tecnologies and communication among the students, professors and tutors, which are physically or geographycally separated. The present scientific article studies what is the distance education current scenario in Brazil and the detected challenges into the tutors perception who provides mentoring in the universities. The aim is to identify the pros and cons into the distance education modality according to the perception of some tutors which provide a pedagogical service and used MOODLE’s platform to do some educational activities into the UAB system (Open University from Brazil). It was fulfilled a qualitative and quantitative search and it was applied a written questionnaire. From that, it was held an analysis about the advantages and the challenges which are proposed by the tutors. The results present the importance of the tutors perception, because they keep up with the courses, identify the positive factors which facilitate the interaction, the student’s learning and the factors which can complicate the education and reflect into the distance education quality.
