Abstract:
In the last years the Portuguese Mathematics Program to Basic Education (PMPBE) changed several times. The time between changes does not allow an evaluation of the practical effects, which raises doubts about such changes in Mathematics Program. Simultaneously, technological evolution and it dissemination, in particular by teachers and students, imposed new teaching-learning methodologies. Moreover, the current COVID-19 pandemic situation has added new challenges in the use of technology in the classroom that currently has a new strand which is being remotely.

The use of technology in mathematics teaching-learning process has been the subject of several studies and is mentioned in the PMPBE. Teachers can use technology to propose mathematical activities that facilitate the learning of different subjects, besides there are a great diversity of free software that allows different strategies to teach mathematics. However, there are constraints that could be related to the teachers, the students or resources available in schools and at home. This work analyses teachers' perception of the use and limitations of technology in the pandemic situation. The study is based on data obtained by a survey developed for this purpose.
