Abstract:
The article focuses on the analysis of the content of teaching informatics at primary and secondary schools. Information and communication technology is developing very dynamically. However, computer science education often does not follow this dynamic development. Teachers often focus on teaching computer control and office software. It turns out that computer science education should reflect more modern trends, focus more on information, robotics, security, and so on.

The article deals with the content of computer science teaching and computer work. Selected thematic plans of primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic were analysed. The report shows the most frequently taught topics, shortcomings in the proposal and scope of issues, and often inadequate use of modern ICT trends. The analysis suggests that teachers are most dedicated to teaching office software, essential PC control and some Internet services. On the contrary, very little is focused on algorithmization, programming, robotics, multimedia, information work, ICT development trends, cloud services.

Furthermore, the article describes a case study that deals with teaching Python programming and which shows the dangers that may arise in the case of inappropriate settings.
