Abstract:
Information and communication technologies are being developed dynamically and are intensively exploited. Computers, mobile devices and other digital technologies are used by young people almost every day and in all their activities. Children use them not only for communication, entertainment, games but also for teaching. Today's young generation can hardly imagine their lives without digital technology. Excessive use of these technologies leads to deterioration of physical fitness, health status, decreased motor skills, and the like. This paper describes a simple experiment in which a select group of boys did not use computers and digital resources for three weeks. Children were introduced to activities that can be done with simple means and without digital technology. The results of the experiment show that children can exist without modern technology and even they can successfully develop their knowledge, skills, motor skills and physical fitness. The case study examines how children can perform simple physical measurements without the use of modern digital technologies and how the absence of digital technologies impacts children's activity. The article describes the possibilities of motivating children with games, shows the appropriate use of digital technologies and activities that are not used by digital technologies at all.
