Abstract:
This work arose from the Educational Research Project SIP 20164811, developed at the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) in Mexico. The qualitative study was performed with teachers at IPN attached to the Teaching Diploma of Science and Technology, in which they were asked some written work where they were to tell their story about their foray into teaching and their perspective of its future. The works were requested in free format, so that each teacher had the possibility to attain his desired depth. The analysis of the written works was done by establishing some categories that allowed accounting for prevailing perceptions in the teachers at the beginning of their teaching and projecting it into the future. The results show that these teachers do envision some differences between their initial teaching and the future. However, it is noticeable that they tend to focus on their present teaching and it is inferred that they experience difficulties in making a future projection. Among the conclusions arises the challenge of thinking about what can be done in the field of teacher training to encourage teachers to achieve greater visibility of their teaching in the future.
