Summary:
This research intends to analyze the factors that influence Career Counseling for the students of the Administration Faculty in the Veracruz Region of the Universidad Veracruzana when choosing their Educational Program. The research starts by applying polls to students with s17 enrollment (Register which identifies the students who enrolled in the Universidad Veracruzana in the year 2017) of the Administration Program, specifying the important aspects and concluding with proposals and suggestions to avoid drop-outs and failure in students due to a wrong decision.
Introduction:
The decision of the College career choice is decisive for the student’s life and future, therefore, Career Counseling is a paramount factor in the student’s development.
Therefore, there is an interest in analyzing the different conflicts that the students with s17 enrollment in the Administration Program of the Universidad Veracruzana, Veracruz Region have in the process and development of their academic education. Also, there is a need to know the factors that influence their decision making process when choosing an educational area besides determining the main problems and proposing solutions to the conflicts that the students face.
By applying a poll to the students, this research allows us to know the percentage of students who received some sort of help regarding their career counseling and if they consider that they lacked support. Also, we aim to know which was their main influence or motivational factors related to their skills, job opportunities, if there is any empathy with their interests and to analyze the relevance of a good career counseling to choose a professional career.
Objective:
To know the factors that influence students when choosing their Educational Program.
Conclusion:
Throughout this research we could observe from a broader point of view what the students need, their problems and different opinions on Career Counseling. Overall, the students did not have Career Counseling as support to choose the educational program of the academic education prior to the current one, which leads to some problems or inconveniences for some students in terms of good performance. The 25% of the students are considering changing their educational program since it does not meet their expectations.
Thus, we conclude that Career Counseling is an important factor and that it is a process that the students must have in their education from middle school level to avoid dropping-out. This would help them to successfully complete their studies, avoiding wasting time due to wrong decisions that affect their development and their professional productivity.Keywords:
