Abstract:
Introduction:
The Universidad Veracuzana, having the need to form integrated professionals to be competitive in any part of the world, requires that its educational programs achieve their goals and reach success. For this reason it must establish or redesign management programs or management processes and new policies that allow the achievement of competitive advantages to get a high differentiation from others, seeking continuous improvement that allows the achievement and preservation of the accreditation; there are different institutions that do the assessment to accredit Higher Education Institutions and Educational Programs.
For this purpose, it is very important to have information systems, since they contain a set of elements that interact among themselves with the objective to support companies or business’ activities. In a wider sense, an information system does not necessarily include electronic equipment (hardware), however, it is often used as a synonym of “computerized information system”.
The information system users participate in a different way within the system and are the main element that integrates it. We can classify as primary users those who feed the system, indirect users those who receive the benefit from the results but that do not interact with the system, managerial and executive users those on whom the administrative responsibility and decision making lie upon, based on the information that the system produces.
Objective:
To implement an information system to optimize the evidence control process to accredit the Educational Programs.
Methodology:
Qualitative research, through observation we perceived certain organization problems in the group in charge of coordinating the accreditation process. Difficulties cause a work overload and delay the follow-up and the group activities process.
Conclusion:
The design and implementation of an information system creates an opportunity to expedite the red tape and formats that are required to comply with the quality requirements that are relevant to the Universidad Veracruzana and at the same time, acquire new ideas and proposals for a better control in the document revision procedure to accredit the educational programs.
