Abstract:
Summary:
In 1997, the Veracruzana University proposed a change of plans and study programs, so it decides to apply the Integral and Flexible Educational Model (MEIF) through which it pursues the autonomy of its students through an adequate decision making in the choice of Educational Experiences (EE) during their school career, that is why the Veracruzana University has the Tutoring Program integrated to the MEIF, being relevant for their academic training and for a successful graduation. This study analyzes the perception of students of the Administration Degree, Veracruz - Xalapa Zone, regarding the operation of the tutoring program, in order to identify probable failures and proposals and suggestions for improvement for the benefit of students and the University itself. Avoiding with this affecting their academic progress.
Introduction:
Nowadays, talking about quality in education is referring about excellence in the processes of activities carried out within the institutions and specifically mentioning services to support students; Where it is vital to have students prepared to face the challenges that arise in the work area; Because it was necessary to develop programs and one of them is the Tutoring one, which consists of supporting students with academic problems, personal and comprehensive training, as well as contributing to improve their academic performance, from an individual or in small groups.
Planting the problem:
At the moment it has been observed that the students of the Faculty of Administration, Region Veracruz, do not know basic subjects, such as the Integral and Flexible Educational Model and its functions and the benefits offered by the Veracruzana University. Some problems are that students do not have an assigned tutor, do not attend the appropriate sessions, or are not provided with adequate information for decision making.
Objective:
To analyze if the program of tutorials in the Degree of Administration, of Regions Veracruz and Xalapa is the adequate one for the decision making in the student's school trajectory.
Conclusion:
In the Veracruz Region, one of the main problems observed according to the results obtained is that not all the students surveyed have an assigned tutor, being the main cause; In addition, the tutor does not mention the necessary information, which benefits the student during his professional development; on the other hand, in the Xalapa Region the main problem is that the tutor does not take into account his academic record, for It does not know their interests, capacities, abilities and needs, being this harmful in their school trajectory.
The tutoring model has multiple benefits; however, if tutors do not apply it as it should, students do not take advantage of it, therefore it is important that tutors have knowledge of the work they are going to do with their students. Therefore, it is indispensable that the tutor is in constant preparation, development and personal growth on this aspect, and that they know the benefits of attending the tutorials. Keywords:
