Abstract:
In this paper we gather some reflections and observations about the adaptation experience to the “European Higher Education Area, EHEA”, which involves a skills-based training and introduces changes in the way knowledge is assimilated. In the academic year 2005-2006 we started working to organize and coordinate the teaching to adapt to the methodological challenge which the so-called Bologna Process means. This article shows the practical teaching experience of “Political Economics”, a subject of the Social Sciences area in University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), using the Moodle Course Management System (CMS), as a free and open source e-learning platform. Moodle turns out to be a helpful tool to evaluate the work-based learning which Bologna Process focuses on. We try to provide a basis for a discussion about the implications of ICTs as learning-tools in the re-formulation of the educational model of higher education that the EHEA implies.
