Abstract:
This study examines the social impact of scientific research through playful workshops for addressing climate change in the Oaxaca region of Mexico. The workshops were targeted toward secondary and high school students, as well as parents, farmers, and the general community. The methodology employed interactive and participatory activities, utilizing playful elements such as games and visual presentations to communicate scientific information in an accessible and engaging manner.

The research findings indicate that the workshops successfully raised awareness and consciousness among participants about the urgency of addressing climate change and its impacts on agriculture and the local community. Through interactive games and activities, the current and projected effects of climate change in the Oaxaca region were highlighted, fostering an understanding of the challenges and the need for action.
In addition to raising awareness, the workshops focused on promoting agricultural adaptation to climate change. Sustainable and adaptive agricultural techniques and strategies, such as the cultivation of resistant varieties and efficient water management, were presented. Participants had the opportunity to practically experience these techniques and understand their relevance in addressing climate challenges in their own agricultural activities.
Collaboration and teamwork were key aspects of the workshops. Participants were encouraged to share ideas and perspectives, seeking collective solutions to address climate change. Through group activities, concrete proposals and actions that could be implemented at the community level were generated. The importance of citizen participation and collaboration among different stakeholders was emphasized.
A positive change in attitudes and behaviors among participants was observed. The workshops facilitated the adoption of sustainable practices in both agriculture and daily life, reflecting increased commitment and environmental awareness. Furthermore, community ties were strengthened as participants joined together in the pursuit of collective solutions and felt part of a broader movement to address climate change.
Preliminarily, it can be concluded that the scientific research based on playful workshops has had a positive social impact by promoting awareness, agricultural adaptation, and collective solutions to climate change in the study region. This participatory and interactive approach effectively facilitated the communication of scientific information in an accessible and engaging manner, enhancing learning and knowledge retention. These findings underscore the importance of employing participatory and interactive methods to address scientific issues and drive significant social changes in the fight against climate change.
