Abstract:
This research has the purpose to describe the a study that used different websites and tools for consulting scientific information that supports research as well as analyzing the main causes of rejection of a scientific article and the misconduct that a student - researcher may commit due to the hurry and the pressure to publish.
A case study will be presented that was carried out with students and researchers from Mexico about plagiarism, fraud and duplication in scientific productions and will analyze the negative repercussions that these bad practices can generate for the researcher, collaborators and institutions.
Scientific and technological information resources from a Mexican consortium were used, the ethic subjects, explanations about the most common malpractices such as plagiarism, duplicate work and fraud, and the use of technological tools to detect similarities in the academic works.
The methodology used in this paper and the results will be discussed to show the importance of having a conscience about ethics and academic integrity at all levels of education.Keywords:
