Abstract:
Some tasks in construction environments require a high expertise or include some risks. Assistance in complex tasks and risks prevention can be improved by applying an ubiquitous in situ monitoring, but they are also benefited from learning techniques and previous knowledge of solutions. These improvements for healthy and more secure construction environments can be obtained from the
application of IST. In this paper, we display the ongoing work for adaptive learning in order to improve the trust and security for workers from a user centric viewpoint. To achieve this goal, we have developed a modular and scalable software application based on different kinds of multimedia support (able of supporting plane text, images and 3D models). Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) provides the general framework for this sofware application. A simple visual interface has been designed for making easier the use of this software application for workers having a scarce comprehension of language. Currently, the same methodology is being applied for learning Non-Destructive and Semi-Destructive Techniques in Cultural Heritage environments.
