Abstract:
The article considers the construction of the educational process applying augmented reality technology. The design and development of lessons based on AR applications and the appropriate software need instructional specialists of general education institutions with specific skills. The author suggests a training program to form or improve competence in augmented reality technology used in professional activities. The program will help specialists learn the basic concepts of the technology area, study the history and opportunities for developing the technology, identify threats and risks that users may face when using AR technology, as well as study software and hardware for developing and immersing themselves in augmented reality technology.

The suggested selection of various AR applications for mobile systems and programs employed for three-dimensional modeling will allow instructional specialists of general education institutions to get elementary knowledge about the ways and methods of applying augmented reality technology for educational purposes. AR-based projects developed by specialists of general education institutions within the training course with their further application in learning activities will give students a certain incentive and motivate them to learn.
