Abstract:
FLAVEaT (Food Legislation in Vocational Training) is a collaborative initiative co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme. Its main objective is to strengthen vocational education and training (VET) in the agri-food sector by integrating European Union food legislation into school curricula.

Launched in December 2023 and running until November 2026, the project brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of partners from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Jordan, and Palestine. The consortium combines expertise from academia, industry, and regulatory bodies.

The overarching goal of FLAVEaT is to bridge the gap between regulatory knowledge and professional training, ensuring that future professionals in the food sector acquire the legal and technical skills required to meet evolving market demands and food safety regulations.

Key objectives of FLAVEaT include:
- Developing innovative e-learning modules focused on EU food legislation, food safety, and feed regulations.
- Training VET educators and trainers in practical tools and methodologies tailored to industry needs.
- Fostering collaboration between educational institutions and private sector stakeholders to ensure the relevance and applicability of training content.
- Supporting policy dialogue and VET system reform, particularly in Jordan and Palestine, to promote sustainable and inclusive food systems.

By enhancing the quality and relevance of vocational training, FLAVEaT contributes to the development of a more resilient, safety-conscious food sector across Europe and the Mediterranean region.
