Abstract:
With the aim of improving competitiveness, promoting sustainable economic growth and boosting job creation, the European Commission published the New Circular Economy Action Plan for a Cleaner and More Competitive Europe in 2020, which will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.

The university, as a knowledge generator, plays a fundamental role in the training of business management professionals capable of generating circular economy (CE) solutions.

This educational innovation project aims to explore and develop the skills and capabilities of undergraduate and master’s students enrolled in business-related courses. The focus is on empowering students to seek circular economy (CE) solutions that can accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The proposed methodology for skills development involves the implementation of a problem-solving approach, which promotes critical thinking and innovation. By integrating CE contents into the curriculum, we aim to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to address real-world challenges in the pursuit of a more sustainable future. The discussion will highlight the importance of this educational approach in preparing the next generation of business professionals to effectively contribute to the circular economy and sustainable development initiatives

To our knowledge, the relationship between CE and the SDGs in the context of an educational innovation project is an innovative and creative proposal that promotes entrepreneurship among business students and enhances their ability to promote CE-based solutions and train professionals capable of contributing to the achievement of the SDGs.
