Abstract:
COVID-19 has been one of the major incidents in the global university education system in recent years. Its influence and effects on education are still difficult to determine today. Both students and teachers have had to change their study and work routines and disciplines, in many cases lacking the necessary infrastructure to adapt to online learning. Recently, students have had to start a new academic year with a complete return to face-to-face teaching without having overcome, in many cases, the incidence of online learning. This study aims to analyze how students value the return to normality after having gone through COVID’s restrictions. A survey was conducted among 151 students from different schools and degrees of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Different factors related to student satisfaction are analyzed and compared with the preCOVID situation, during confinement and the return to face-to-face classes. The results obtained show that the impact of Covid-19 on education, albeit at more moderate levels, persists after the return to presence. we also find that the provision of infrastructures has been a key element in the adaptation to online teaching. Students perceive a significant unrewarded personal effort and a loss of value for the education received, which in general, recovers and exceeds the levels prior to the pandemic situation.
