Abstract:
The incorporation of the Spanish educational system into the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) has necessitated the restructuring of university studies and the creation of new curricula for different qualifications.
Pursuant to the legislation in force, syllabuses must aim to ensure that they respect and comply with the principle of equal opportunities for men and women. In some cases, this has translated into the design and introduction of specific subjects.
Building on this premise, and bearing in mind that we are in the midst of the reorganisation of our social system around new technologies, we must not fail to address the inequalities that filter through to and multiply within this new Information Society (IS). Within this framework, we must not forget to introduce gender mainstreaming into all social spheres, including the particularly important gender perspective in Information and Communication Technologies (ITC).
In the face of this new reality, we believe it is necessary to include a new subject called Resources for the Development of Equality Policies in the syllabus for the official Master's degree in Equality Policies and the Prevention of Gender-Based Violence offered by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).
In this paper we will describe the competences this subject aims to develop, as well as its overall objectives and the teaching materials used to achieve these objectives. Keywords:
