Abstract:
For the course on “Quantitative Methods” in the second course of the Business (LADE) and Finance and Accounting and Economics Degrees, a continuous assessment system has been developed.
Characteristics and advantages of this assessment methodology fit the actual assessment systems to the Bolonia framework and ECTS demands. In this way, the continuous assessment has a double purpose. On the one hand, it is an system to evaluate the individual progress of the student and on the other, it is an excellent instrument to promote the participation and involvement of students during the course.
In addition, our methodology allows the students to know before hand all the mandatory and optional activities and requirements to obtain a good mark from the beginning of the course.
We have performed an experimental study in order to analyze the influence of the main activities involved on final marks. Some advantages of the experience that should be taken into account next course, are concluded.
