Abstract:
Contemporary studies support the fact that cooperation between preschool institutions and parents has positive affect in general development of the child. Kosovo as a new state has undertaken a series of reforms in education field, however these reforms are not enough for increasing quality of the work in preschool institutions. The intention of MAST in Kosovo presented by “Strategy of Pre-university Education Development 2011-2016” it’s the increase of preschool education performance in national level. Especially the work with children of 3-4 and 4-5 age groups it’s still an unsurpassed challenge. In the work that educator develops main partners and co-decision, should be parents.
The paper is based in the hypothesis: “A good cooperation with parents increases the quality of work that it’s developed in preschool institutions”.
The research is developed in two levels: where educators who work with children 3-4, 4-5 and 5–6 and parents of children of all age groups are involved. The research is realized in 4 public preschool institutions and includes a sample of 20 educators and 40 parents. Whilst the other phase of the research involves the direct work in the institution where in one of the preschool institutions in collaboration with educators there has been realized surveillance in a structured manner and re-planning that took approximately 2 months. During this time there has been used a number of innovative strategies with the educator about active include of parents in Preschool Institutions.
Results of the study show that cooperation level at age groups 3-4, 4-5 is low, while at 5-6 age group starts to rise. Also, by planning and applying various strategies to create the chance for parents to affect by active include in increasing the institution performance.
Recommendations arising from this research help improving quality of work in preschool institutions through building cooperative relationships parent – educator and serve as a positive model for the cooperation between parents and preschool institution.
