Abstract:
This article attempts to look at the importance of online course evaluation and its advantages for undergraduate teaching. A key concern for undergraduate psychology lecturers was evaluating students' progress during their courses, as complete success was not guaranteed in the classroom. A multiple-choice, online questionnaire was used to collect information for this qualitative, exploratory study. The respondents (270 students), could download and complete the online questionnaire via an emailed link, which was also posted on the e-learning platform. Findings indicate that course evaluation provide lecturers with useful information about improving their teaching methods, and allow them to assist their students towards improving their performance. Students revealed motivation in classes where lecturers have an instructional style which is interactive, enthusiastic, while using multidimensional teaching strategies. Course evaluation goes beyond students' achievements and considers all aspects of learning and teaching, as well as informs educational decisions. This paper presents an evaluation technique which can assist psychology lecturers to create a dynamic classroom situation for future lecturing and effective evaluation. This study can guide psychology lecturers with classroom strategies to respond to individual needs which may enhance student success.
