Abstract:
In the current field of industrial design, it is necessary to know which graphic techniques are most effective for presenting new products to clients. The current abundance of graphic media gives designers a very broad spectrum of resources to choose from to present their proposal visually. However, sometimes the technique or presentation format is not well chosen and becomes ineffective, and the client gets a poor or incomplete impression of the presented project.

In order to determine the efficiency of the different graphic media, several designer teams have developed some product concepts for the habitat (indoor and outdoor furniture and household devices) and presented them to clients using various graphic techniques. In each case, the client's understanding about the presented idea, about how to use the product, about the use context of the product and about the relationship with the user have been evaluated, considering quality of execution and conceptual clarity of the visual material.

This work shows which are the most common graphic representation techniques in the current field of design and demonstrates the importance of graphic representation as a support tool in the presentation of new products, favoring the communication process between the designers and their clients.
