Abstract:
Currently, the active search of the mechanism of financial support of students of the universities on the basis of objective criteria for evaluation of their activity is conducted. The availability of numerous grants and awards, for which universities put forward their best students, requires a common approach to assessing their activity. The experience of Southern Federal University is associated with the development and implementation of the procedure for calculating the personal rating of students. Adopted practice determines the order of accounting of academic, scientific, social, sports and creative achievements of students to create a monitoring system. On this basis, the resources of the scholarship fund and the appointment of increased state scholarships are distributed. Article is devoted to the analysis of the positive and negative moments connected with use of the developed system of indicators. On the basis of score the rank within each filled category is appropriated to the student. The analysis of the results of filling the individual rating (electronic portfolio) in a special information-analytical system showed that the desire of students to have the maximum possible number of points in accordance with the proposed scale for different types of activity leads to a negative effect. Students concentrate on non-academic activities and reduce academic and scientific activity. A positive aspect is the mass systematic increase in the activity of students in socio-cultural activities.
