Abstract:
The article discusses the problems of developing translation skills of postgraduates and what methods are better to use in teaching postgraduates to understand and do correct translation of the scientific articles of modern researchers in the field where the students work. It is analyzed few years of experience of working with the postgraduates who do their research in agricultural business. In this article the authors would like to share with their experience how to overcome difficulties in translation of scientific articles and what teaching methods are better to use and what kind of exercises help to develop translation skills of postgraduates. The authors describe the ways of finding and working with “interpreters’ false friends” e.g. international words which pronounced the same way as in the native language but they have completely different meaning. There are some exercises which help to escape the wrong translation of scientific articles, which can be successfully used in teaching and developing translation skills of postgraduates. The authors think that the article might be useful for schoolteachers and University lectures interested in improving foreign language teaching methods.
