Abstract:
Nowadays it is widely acknowledged that the digital age has driven profound transformations in the way we read and in the means of accessing and reproducing reading. In this context, the project presented in this article aims to create knowledge within the educational use of mobile digital devices, mainly e-Readers, to access reading, primarily of literature, and to train new readers.

The project includes four dimensions:
a) teacher and student training to use e-Readers in three groups of schools;
b) creation of a network of e-books of public domain and contents on Pinterest to promote books and events related to the book, and it underlies the concept that in today’s society it is vital to participate in a network. Pinterest will represent a new balance of forces: its users have a greater capacity to intervene in relation to a past in which decision was centred on hierarchy. Moreover, this network suits the fusion of contents and services linked to the book, because it is well adapted to mobile devices;
c) creation of posters of writers with QR codes.

This proposal will change the profile of schools and the way students and teachers relate to the books. It is proposed that each school – in the hallways, classrooms and social spaces – places on its walls posters of important Portuguese literary authors with several QR codes. Thus, the school community can access multiple data regarding the respective author, through their mobile phones, tablets or other devices;

d) production of e-books and audiobooks. It is expected that teachers and students produce their own digital books, that integrating the various media will be focusing on promotion of multiple literacies. We also intend to use the podcast to broadcast audiobooks produced by teachers and students to inform, analyze, motivate, sensitize, summarize, question, etc. It can be used as a mere digital audio file, but it can also be configured using various types of representation, from the use of still or moving images, text, videos and sounds. The possibility to be shared on the web increases the opportunity for exchange of experiences and information.

The project is developed according to a research-action methodology, data is collected through observation, interviews and produced digital works; for its analysis we have resorted to the analysis of content.
