TRAININGS AND NEW EDUCATION METHODS IN THE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENTS FOR SUSTAINABLE WORKPLACE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract:
Our paper is an example of how human resource management tools can be used in the accounting department of the companies conducting to workplace development. This article presents the results of the implementation of a Leonardo da Vinci Innovation Transfer project in Romania, at Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. This project is analyzing the adaptability of the Finnish model in the target countries (Romania and Hungary), the necessity to re-design content, methods and trainings included. In the project it is supposed that both beneficiaries to elaborate and propose adapted content and pedagogical methods for 10 companies each. In Romania, the trainers of Babes-Bolyai University and the Association of Craftsmen and Managers of Cluj-Napoca, we thought to use the adapted methods and trainings in the accounting departments of 10 companies. Through an interview-based qualitative approach we identify the problems inside the departments, the needed soft skills of the employees from the accounting departments in order to better communicate and the motivational factors of the accountants to encourage them having better performances. We identified a general lack of communication and interpersonal skills of the employees form the accounting departments and a low motivation towards development at workplace. We propose a series of trainings for these departments and new education methods in order to contribute to the sustainable development growth.
