Abstract:
At the Finances and Accountancy training maintained by the Finance and Accountancy Faculty of the Budapest Business School, we put special emphasis on practical orientation. The majority of our colleagues are outstanding representatives of the accountancy profession, accountants, auditors, advisors, financial experts. We pursue to present our students a vivid image of economic processes even in the framework of basic subjects, by spicing up theoretical knowledge with real-life examples.

The training, as well as the deepening of the previously gained knowledge happens in the framework of the projects developed two years ago in the course of the subject “Accountancy and controlling in a digital environment” being a part of the curriculum of the 6th semester. The subject provides a good opportunity to link the ideas taught during various courses together, as well as for the practical application of this knowledge in a digital environment. During the accomplishment of the projects the students work both independently and at other cases in groups, and concerning the outcomes of two projects they also have the obligatory task of creating presentations.

The structure of the subject and the educational content is monitored at the end of each semester, thus we have the opportunity to adapt to the fast-changing environment from semester to semester. The students complete a satisfaction questionnair at the end of each semester, which gives them opportunity to evaluate educational content, the performance of the teachers and also their fellow attendees. The education of this subject and this area of profession gives a constant challenge, but it serves the professional development of both our students and teachers, while working their contentment. In our presentation we introduce the structure of the projects, feedback and our students’ evaluations.
