C. Fajardo

National University (UNITED STATES)
This study will entail analysis of the results the Standardized Learning Outcomes Assessment Tests that are being administered to the students both onsite and online in the Bachelor of Accountancy Program at National University (a non-profit, accredited, private university in higher education) over a five-year period for academic years 2004-2005 to 2008-2009. This is an internal direct measure of the students’ performance in accounting courses. The evaluation instruments were created and administered on an incremental basis starting initially with two courses and adding on to a total of ten courses having the assessments tests by academic year 2008-2009. There are two goals: (1) to have a mean score of 3 out of 4 questions for each of the course learning outcomes and (2) to have a proportion of students achieving 75%. The scores are being analyzed and interpreted to determine the possible causes when goals are not met. The results of the analysis are being used as basis for improvement in the accounting curriculum to enhance the quality of students’ learning.
