Abstract:
The universities as the most important developmental tools are gradually becoming obvious in socio-economic, cultural and scientific realms. Over the last three decades ICT has been proposed as one of the most important sources and a significant element in the educational system; it has been applied at various educational levels especially higher education in countries in order to achieve developmental targets. Meanwhile, such technologies like ICT has been exposed to change and transition in educational systems. In this regard, some factors impact on ICT user. The impact of technology on higher education, work environment and life underscore the importance of technology's acceptance and application process; success depends on acceptance and adaptation of modern technologies extensively and with higher speed.
Also, the regional leader in terms of combined indicators of ICT development and a country that has shown one of the highest growth rates in Internet usage over the past decade (with 43.2 percent of Iranians using the Internet in 2010, compared to just 42.8 percent in Russia and 31.6 percent in China). In spite of rapidly grows in ICT usage in the world but, Iran moved down considerably, 4 places, to rank 84 in the IDI 2008. Also rate of internet penetrate among higher education had been 7 percent till 2010.
The main aim is to assess socio- psychotic factors on use of ICT between faculty members of zone 8 branches in Tehran from Islamic Azad University. Simple random sampling method was used. Given that the present survey has a descriptive-field plan and questionnaire is measurement tool that reliability and validity of this tool was confirmed. Finding of study was showed that private universities in Tehran given to the importance of studying application level of ICT in universities. Finding show that eleven variables affect the application of ICT. These variables clarify 84 percent of the dependent variable’s variance totally and there are still unrecognized variables. Computer competence, computer self-efficacy, management support and perceived ease of use of computer were recognized as strong predictors of ICT application.Keywords:
