Abstract:
Currently, the introduction of the case-study method into the practice of higher professional education is highly relevant and justified. This is due, first of all, to the general orientation of the development of education, its orientation not so much to obtaining specific knowledge, but to the formation of professional competence, abilities and skills of mental activity, the development of personality abilities, among which special attention is paid to the ability to learn, to change the paradigm of thinking, the ability to process a huge amount of information. A modern specialist must be capable of optimal behavior in various production situations, differ in the consistency and efficiency of the decisions made.
The article reveals the essence of the case-study method, as one of the ways to effectively apply theory in real life, when solving emerging problems. An example of using this method in the organization of educational activities of students on the basis of teaching a business foreign language to future students-economists is given. The author gives examples of communicative case studies that were successfully applied in the classroom. Questioning and oral questioning of students, as well as data from monitoring learning outcomes, confirmed the undoubted advantage of this teaching method in the practice of teaching foreign language communication.Keywords:
