Abstract:
The theme of numerical sequences was addressed within the scope of an internship inserted in the 1st edition of the advanced scientific internships in Mathematics for teachers and researchers of higher education institutions of African Portuguese-speaking Countries (PALOP). This topic is part of the Mathematics curriculum of the 2nd Cycle of Secondary Education in Angola and its teaching requires teachers to change traditional educational practices, which motivate students for the learning of this and other subjects. The integration of diverse and appropriate tasks in mathematics classes can be a fundamental element to promote in students a greater motivation and availability for learning. In this investigation we aim to present a set of tasks that can be worked in a classroom context, some numerical sequences based on the daily lives of Angolan students. The tasks were based on the metal numbers (gold number, silver number, copper number, nickel number, among others) and built in order to lead the student to a greater motivation for learning the topic of numerical sequences.
