Abstract:
Placemaking consists in the creation of informal locals in shared buildings or established empty places. The placemaking has several characteristics, one of the most important is to build a friendly environment for the people that makes them feel like as their home. In other words, the sensation of comfort that allows the communal living between families generating a feeling of wellness. This paper shows the benefits of implementing the concept of placemaking in universities. The proposal described is developed inside a university space. The main idea is to offer an alternative space with the aim of improving the cohabitation between students and their community. Therefore, this paper presents a study for the starting of a placemaking in a university environment which is open to the community where the university is located.
