Abstract:

The methodologies of Problem Based Learning(PBL) and Web Quest have been put into practice in the subject Processes of Teaching and Learning(Procesos de Enseñaza y Aprendizaje) of the Fist Year students of "Titulo de Grado de Maestro" of
Primary Education of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Faculty of Education, Toledo. Eighty (80) students were involved in these didactic processes with whom individual and group qualitative questionnaires had been administered. At the end of the course, another questionnaire was administered to measure students satisfaction after having undergone the methodological processes mentioned above, their developmental processes and results achieved. The Final Individual students numerical ratings given to these didactic processes were quite high.

The Final Questionnaire was administered to ten (10) groups of eight which tried to evaluate various qualitative aspects of the methodological processes. It was an "Open-ended" questionnaire to give way to the spontaneity of the students. It has the following parts: 1) Indicate three positive aspects of Problem Based Learning(PBL), 2) Point out three negative aspects of PBL and why you say so, 3) Enumerate three advantages of working with Web Quest and why they are so, 4) Enumerate three inconvenciences of working with Web Quest and say why, 5) Please give a/some suggestions/s to your teacher as how to improve the subject.

The results showed high satisfaction rating of the students as to the use of Problem Based Learning (PBL) as a didactic methodology combined with the use of Web Quest. These good resuslts offer reliable didactic tools applicable to university methodologies which are very helpful in improving students`motivation to achieve significant and quality academic performance.
