Abstract:
The main objective of this study is to examine the levels of procrastination (tendency to avoid doing a task) and occurrences of cheating (procedure that involves breaking the rules to get good results) amongst students attending compulsory secondary school in Spain, Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (E.S.O.). We also analyze if there are differences between the level of procrastination and cheating of the students according to their academic level (3rd and 4th year of E.S.O.).

The sample is composed by 43 students: 21 of them study 3rd year of E.S.O. and the remaining 22 study 4th year of E.S.O. Academic Delay Scale was used to determine the levels of procrastination and cheating presented by the sample.
Results show that these students present low level of procrastination and very low level of cheating. No student present very high levels of procrastination and cheating. There are no differences between students of 3rd and 4th year of E.S.O.

However, although these interesting results, we must be cautious and continue working on the subject to overcome some limitations that this study presents. In this sense, an important direction for the future is to enlarge the research due to the sample was composed by students attending the same school and the size of the sample is small.
