Abstract:
The digitalisation of teaching has been a much-discussed topic in Finland and in other developed countries for quite a while, but the recent social distancing imposed by the COVID19 pandemic has acted as an accelerator for the development and implementation of online teaching tools and resources.

Although things in Finland have gone relatively smoothly all things considered, the sudden shift has also revealed some gaps in both teachers’ and students’ digital literacy, as well as a need for new learning objectives specific to the digital environment.

A direct continuation of the successful 2digi project, 2digi2 aims to assist language centre teachers in navigating those rapid changes. After a brief presentation of the project, we will focus on the work of one of its four teams, whose task is to research, list, share and promote learning objectives for the digital age. Finally, the results of a recent survey run in language centres around the country will shed some light on the current level of awareness towards such objectives.
