Abstract:
Nowadays, teaching foreign languages is inextricably linked to the processes of globalization, internationalization and digitalization. The number of international contacts is increasing, with the result that tourism and hotel business are prospering more than ever. Thus, it becomes necessary to develop and introduce new foreign language teaching methods which could meet both international and professional requirements.

One of the modern trends is the application of Content and language integrated learning (CLIL) in the educational process. CLIL is a method which helps students master the content of a non-linguistic discipline by means of a foreign language.

This method is based on content, cognitive, communicative and cultural components, as well as a number of didactic, linguistic and psychological principles. The successful implementation of CLIL depends on such factors as solid educational base, active assistance of a teacher and their professional competence, culture-based education and learning process environment.

The method is possible to be implemented both offline and online. For the modern world being subjected to various changes, it is impossible to manage educational processes in the traditional manner. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic education in the year 2020 was partially based on the use of information technologies, which has become an impetus for the development of distance learning.

Thus, the implementation of digital technology in the CLIL framework is relatively new and, therefore, needs a thorough study.

All of the above has prompted us to analyze the pedagogical potential of digital education in teaching English to hospitality students, as well as to give examples of possible tasks.
