Abstract:
The paper examines teacher/student ICT competences and ICT based interaction on the example of Tbilisi State University. Large-scale eLearning integration into traditional learning setting has been taking place in the University from 2009. As widely known, one of the key success factors is build upon the digital literacy and ICT skills of both – teachers and students. The main aim of the research was to define the prospective and identify the needs of current developments in eLearning at Tbilisi State University.
The methodology -a survey had been held on the topic – survey consisting of several crucial questions based on sample of 700 BA students about the major uses of ICT, digital resources and the forms of their utilization. Survey also draws the data on the computer use in students. It has shown that 80% of students use computer on a daily basis and 67% of students confirm that their professors use email and digital resources. It also included details analysis of all the data.
The paper also focuses on the eLearning deployment that is mainly implemented through the PhD students with an elective course and explains the need of this successful and interesting practice.
