Abstract:
Living without enclosure is hard to contain activities. Being in an enclosed space while providing essential elements to supply basic human needs is necessary for our health, quality of life, and survival. Therefore, all disciplines' professionals strive to create and design everything a person needs in terms of equipment and a favorable environmental climate. To live an easy and comfortable life while increasing work and humans and work performance, we refer to the most important professional, the interior designer. Disciplines that cater to human needs by becoming an Interior Designer are delivered through a graduate interior designer who has studied and learned from specialized programs in interior design.

The research point highlights the teaching method of the program of interior design and student awareness that, interior design project's concept leads to the material schemes in the undergraduate study. The research problem focuses on the teaching method and the preparation stage for interior design students. The students cannot collect sufficient information to reach a well thought out design philosophy that then influences the nature of the functional activities of their interior design projects. Additionally, due to the lack of the time management of the project implementation phases during the semester, students start with the practical part of the design before a good project concept is prepared and understood. The student then cannot choose the right materials, which is considered one of the most important elements of design success, without which design falls, whether in academic or practical life.

The research follows the qualitative methodology referring to the design course outcomes. The project implementation throughout the time management and the students' continuous observations are the core study methodology. Following appropriate steps and organized time leads to a good selection of proper, safe material schemes enjoyed by the interior space users. These steps also aid in the success of the project, whether in academic or practical life, considering what is taught in the study programs qualifies the student to practice the profession, one of the most important indicators of the educational process's success.

To conclude, the research focuses on laying down the fundamentals and standards of the educational methodology that then addresses the student's failure to define the project's concept. The study should end with the advice that helping the student develop related criteria for selecting materials appropriate to the project concept. The recommendation includes establishing a time management schedule to cover all stages of implementing the academic project to reach the practical part and emphasize establishing a materials laboratory. The materials labs in the academic establishments enable the student chooses the color, texture and specifications of the appropriate materials for the project to simulate activities in practical life, which is the goal of any program in preparing graduates to practice the profession.
