Abstract:
Design is fundamental to every human being. The desire to bring order is an essential human trait. Most of the humans’ day-to-day activities include a degree of design. Design colleges, therefore, consider in various fields, which graduates generations of students that are cared for and taught the professional experience and importance of the role of the designer. In contemporary times, the design has been considered a single system that has unified the artistic basis of our present life. Design is one of the areas of creative activity where it is nearly impossible for any work to emerge without design. Colleges that graduate designers, always seek to develop themselves to produce a distinct generation of designers.
Research problem:
The research problem is the conflict between the ideas and the philosophy of design in those public areas and corridors. The presentation selection of the educational surfaces affect the students indirectly and helps them develop their awareness of design. The models of projects, which are carefully selected, and help benefit the students while contributing to the advancement of the educational process. The interior design department’s program of the design-colleges consists of studios for design and drawing, lecture halls, computer labs, workshops for the implementation of models, works of art, scientific library, and photography facilities. Emerging from these educational places, we find sub-spaces and corridors that display projects and working/final models, all of which should be used to help students indirectly.
Research goal:
The research aims to find a philosophy for designing interior corridors and display areas in design colleges to contribute to the development of the students' perception of the design and what educational materials to display. These corridors occupy large areas that must be used to give the impression of sensitivity and an environment that is suitable for students of design colleges. All students and visitors of the design colleges should realize and perceive the exceptional nature of their study and the content of scientific design programs.
Research methodology:
The analytical approach is the base of this study, to survey corridors, and collect information through questionnaires from beneficiaries, whether students or faculty members of all courses in the College of Design. Additionally, the compilation of studies and examples similar in design colleges and their solutions. The analyses of the philosophical and the methodological approaches of design, as broad lines in the proposed application, to reach the standards of the design decisions. To contribute to the development of awareness among students of design and achieve a deeper understanding and be able to criticize design courses and programs. Keywords:
