The development and modernization process as well as the establishment of new universities is complex and depend on many committees and systems to develop standard criteria and mechanism to measure the education’ quality. In addition, architectural offices are based on educational building extension and the expansion of new universities using diverse and multi-functional program design and specifications depend on the curriculum and required education qualities of the university.
As results of large number and diverse responsible, and the large amount of essential developing’ requirements, it is worth noting that most attention goes to find spaces for classrooms and labs, and to solve the movement among spaces to success the architectural functionality of universities’ building, without concerns to the interior spaces of students’ services. Much more, interior designers don’t take into account that they are dealing with successive generations of young people each year, which have several rapid changing requirements and visions for the new era, not consistent with the traditional rigid functional interiors students’ services. Finally, the lack of interest from the professional to study those areas, in order to provide students with optimum interior environment, which enable them to interact educationally, to increase communication, and to raise the belonging behavior.
The importance of this research focus and deal essentially with the interest of those spaces, finding solutions to consistent development of their interiors, through regular meeting with the students, and by designing a questionnaire to regularly take their opinions in order to determine the latest requirements, to translate them using the interior design science. Those requirements should involve activities services, reception areas, corridors, informal workplaces, foods and beverages areas, modern treatments, colors, lighting, and inserting the studies of young psycho-age group to conclude reactions to the surrounding recent trends. All those requirements will achieve a standards methodology, a variety of methods, and a non-traditional functional program of the students’ services interiors in universities.
A case study of Ajman University of Science and Technology - UAE, will take place to apply the research methodology, to attempt recommendations and results flexible to apply in universities.
