Abstract:
Interior design education must focus on health and wellness, underlining the importance of well-being in creating interior spaces. Emphasizing high comfort standards is crucial, and this can be achieved by implementing strategies that boost users' physical activity and overall health, such as integrating biophilic elements. Embedding wellness within students' knowledge and culture is essential, facilitating a seamless connection with workplace strategies.

The primary objective of this paper is to highlight the necessity of adopting a biophilic approach in stand exhibition design and fostering an understanding of well-being in interior spaces. This approach will enable students to develop accessible, educational, and enjoyable environments that cater to the diverse needs of various audiences.

The methodology employed in this paper involves guiding students through a comprehensive design process that begins with a thorough understanding of the constraints and opportunities related to promoting well-being in exhibition spaces. Students are encouraged to create initial hand-drawn sketches that embody their concepts, incorporating the biophilic approach from the outset. Throughout the planning and sketching phases, the course instructor provides direction and steers students toward the most appropriate design theories and strategies that align with the biophilic approach.

The expected findings of this paper include a deeper understanding of the impact of the Biophilic Design Approach on the expert design process, clarifying the concept and its applications. A well-defined statement of need and problem analysis at the beginning of the design process establishes a comprehensive framework that informs the entire project. The outcome is the development of stand exhibitions that prioritize well-being and harmoniously integrate biophilic elements, effectively addressing the diverse requirements of the target audience. This paper contributes to the professional discourse on interior design education, promoting the integration of biophilic principles to create healthier and more engaging exhibition spaces.
