Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of an augmented reality (AR) application on the achievement of Higher Qualification Diploma students at Sultan Qaboos University. It also aims to assess the influence of AR learning materials on student motivation, specifically focusing on attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. The study utilizes a quantitative method approach and applies a quasi-experimental design. Data collection involves the use of questionnaires and tests. By comparing student achievement and motivation before and after using the AR application, the study examines the differences between the control and experimental groups. The sample comprises 62 students enrolled in the "Educational Technology" course at Sultan Qaboos University's College of Education, with participants randomly assigned to either the control group (32 students) or the experimental group (30 students). The results demonstrate a significant difference in the mean scores of the post-test, favoring the experimental group. Moreover, the findings indicate a substantial increase in motivation among students in the experimental group after engaging with the Augmented Reality learning materials.
