Abstract:
The implementation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) has led to a substantial change in the teaching-learning process in the university area and that is the reason why we need the active participation of teachers in the usage of the most active and innovative teaching methodology in the ways of generating and transmitting information.

The objective of this project was to apply an active teaching methodology, supported by information and communications technology (ICT), during laboratory practice of the subject “Chemical Principles of Engineering”, promoting not only the own specific competences of the experimentation in chemistry, but also the acquisition of transversal competences in the comprehensive formation of the student, such as: team work, the usage of new technologies in the search of information and exhibition of results, written and oral expression of the work done and tracking of the student’s learning process.

The laboratory practices as a pillar of the scientific investigation are activities that allow innovation, reflexion about the object of the practical work and different aspects about the methodology to take place.

The learning analysis was done by analyzing the results achieved by students in the submitted reports, expositions and evaluation tests. These results were compared to the perception of the students of their own extent of learning, determined by the anonymous valuation surveys conducted after the practices.
