Abstract:
Quarantine measures carried out due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the transition to distance and mixed forms of education have set a number of new challenges for teachers. Some of them include expanding teacher competence in information and communication technologies, studying and introducing effective innovative teaching methods, improving diagnostic methods of students' knowledge. The most acute question is how to remotely organize the conduct of tests and exams so that the assessments correspond to the level of knowledge gained. Many teachers have noted an improvement in student grades during distance learning, but can we consider it reliable? How to assess whether a student completed the assignments independently? It is difficult to organize tests in exact disciplines such as physics and mathematics, as tasks often require written solutions. It is challenging for a teacher to organize control over performance remotely. In addition to assessing the correctness of the task, the teacher must also assess whether the student has completed it independently.

This study describes the procedures for conducting tests, evaluation works and exams in the LMS (Learning Management System) of a technical university. The use of cloud technologies allows you to send tests or exam assignments quickly, as well as quickly collect the completed work. After analyzing the structure and the form of the assignments, it was concluded that the test form of questions is more preferable. Case studies have also proven to be a good method of evaluation. A student is given a situation: it can be a physical process or some mathematical model, then several questions are asked to check theoretical knowledge, some of the tasks may require calculations. Then the teacher can discuss the completed assignment with the student and ask several questions to check the independence of completing the task.

In order to monitor the learning process remotely, it is convenient to conduct surveys in the form of tests during lectures, practical and laboratory sessions. The experience of creating such tests using Google Forms, which is one of the Google cloud services, is described. For comparison, we used the creation of tests on Kahoot (a service for creating online quizzes, tests and surveys). The advantages of the tests created on these platforms are the multimedia style of questions, the ease of sending test to students via the links, the ability to pass tests from any device and reports for teachers in electronic form. The use of the tests allows you to save the teacher's time for roll call and have prompt feedback from students.

In order to analyze the effectiveness of the use of tests for the remote assessment of students' knowledge, a survey was conducted among 58 experts (teachers of physics and mathematics). Distance testing is assessed by teachers as an effective diagnostic procedure, since the marks obtained during testing correlate with students' assessments before quarantine measures and the use of tests allows monitoring the attendance and involvement of students in the educational process.

We plan to continue working in terms of creating a test base in exact sciences subjects for applicants and students of the 1st and 2nd year, improve the forms of questions and answer options, as well as use other platforms to create tests.
